April Meeting

The April meeting was a great success. Emile D'Amico did a wonderful job of giving us an overview of the chromatic. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. I hope Emile would be willing to provide additional sessions later in the year. Yes, there is a lot to learn. Yes, it is a different "animal" in a number of ways but it is a cousin or better yet a brother/sister instrument of the diatonic and if you want to branch out into jazz or pop you need to be able to play the chromatic.

For the May meeting, Jim Quinlin has agreed to give us an introduction to harp maintenance and tweeking. Bring along some old disposable harps to work on. Even if you don't have any, still come. Jim is an Overblowmeister and Tweekmeister so this is a meeting you don't want to miss. By the way, the date of this meeting is going to be Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 6:30pm. Mark your calendars.

Some of us will be attending the Jason Ricci Workshop this Tuesday at 6pm at the GSB location. It promises to be a fantastic time. Sorry, for all of you procrastinators, it is full.

By the way, Seth was kind enough to lend me his tape recording of the Annie Raines workshop. I have edited it (not an easy process for me anyway) and have it on mp3 and wave (regular audio) formats. I'm still trying to figure out how to post mp3s on this blog. According to my son it is not that easy. Stay tuned.
