Philly H.A.R.P. Jam Club at The Grog

On June 19 we had our third jam at the Grog and it was another wonderful success. Everyone had a chance to play and we had the good fortune of having Ron "Mudcat" Davidoff. Ron was really excellent with incredibly tasty solos. Chris on keys, Bill on guitar, and Marshall on bass rounded out the backing band while John and Tom were really on their game blowin' harp. The sets included:

Statesboro Blues
Summertime
Sittin' On Top of the World
Rainin' In My Heart (Ron lead on this one)
Shake Your MoneyMaker
It Ain't Necessarily So
You Got To Move
You Never Can Tell
My Babe
Shake, Rattle, and Roll
and many others

Our next 2 jams are July 16 and August 20 (both 3rd Tuesdays) and everyone is encouraged to come. For these dates we will have additional mics so that we can flow more easily from one soloist to the next. As always we will begin to set up at  6:30 to 7:00pm but actually get started a few minutes later.

The food and drink at The Grog are excellent and friends and family are always welcome.

We've got some interesting songs for this jam:

listen to Tom Waits Ice Cream Man http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXnHRSR0Pd0(which we do in A) and we love to play Ray Charles so this month we are going to feature I'm Busted in C -- this is a country blues http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_Ew-768xmk. I think it works best in 1st position but YMMV.

See y'all soon,

Michael and Fred
